What is Photofacial Therapy?
Our Photofacial therapy uses Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) with Smart Pulse Technology which penetrates through the skin’s deeper layers to repair and rejuvenate the skin. Rosacea, discoloration, freckles, and visible veins, are just a few examples of conditions we can help you manage. A 2017 review of Photofacial therapy indicates that over 25 years of widespread use has shown no adverse reactions or increased risk from use.
At Nurturing You Women’s Health & Wellness in Corona, CA our goal is to help our patients achieve noticeably clearer skin with a more even skin tone with Venus Versa™, a non-invasive skin rejuvenation treatment method that is capable of incredible results.
Who is a Good Candidate for Photofacial Therapy?
Venus Versa™ skin rejuvenation treatments work best for light to medium skin tones with an uneven skin complexion of discoloration or visible veins on their skin. If you have a darker skin complexion, there is a higher risk of discoloration because darker skin has more pigment in it. Due to skin complexities and for safety reasons we recommend that you book a consultation to ensure that this treatment is right for you.
How Many Photofacial Sessions Will I Need?
Most patients receive 4-5 treatments per area, done 3 weeks apart. The exact number will depend on each individual person, the area being treated, as well as the severity of your condition. Your skincare expert will outline a treatment plan during your initial consultation based on a visual assessment and the goals you hope to achieve.
How Long Does a Photofacial Session Take?
One session usually lasts 15-20 minutes, depending on the area being treated. During the session, you will feel like someone is lightly flicking you as the applicator moves around the treatment area. The applicator has a cooling feature to make the treatment as comfortable as possible, but you might feel a bit of discomfort if you are treating a more sensitive area.
How will I feel after my treatment and is there any downtime?
There is no downtime and you can return to your daily routine immediately after treatment. Your skin may feel warm, like a sunburn, and can remain red for anywhere from a few hours to a day. If you decide to wear makeup post-treatment, be sure to put on sunscreen first (at least SPF 30).
